KADA (Korea Anti-Doping Agency) sent 13 of its top anti-doping experts to the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics.

Two KADA staff members worked directly with the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) at the DCCC Paralympics, assisting in the management of anti-doping control programs. The other 11 specialists, who are certified International Doping Control Officers (IDCOs) by the International Testing Agency (ITA), was on-site conducting doping tests at various Olympic and Paralympic venues.

๐Ÿ˜ƒ Impressive! KADA's anti-doping expertise goes way beyond Korea.

While showcasing the many benefits of archeryโ€”like muscle strengthening, improved concentration, and enhanced mental stabilityโ€”she also highlighted the importance of game rules, the spirit of fair play, and shared an anti-doping message, giving the students a truly special experience.

๐Ÿ‘€ Spirit of Sport!

Kim Kum-pyoung, Secretary General of KADA, emphasized, "The purpose of anti-doping programs is to preserve the intrinsic value of sports, and it's essential to nurture and protect the values of sportsmanship from a young age." ๐Ÿ‘€ The Anti-Doping Education for Parents!

๐Ÿค— 2024 Anti-Doping Education for Parents

KADA successfully hosted the "2024 Anti-Doping Education for Parents" on July 5th, with 31 parents of school athletes attending the session at the joint lecture room on the first floor of the Korea National Sports University. The training was also live-streamed on KADA's official YouTube channel, attracting over 60 online participants.

This marks KADA's first anti-doping education program specifically for parents, emphasizing their vital role in preventing doping among student-athletes. The session provided essential information for parents to help their children navigate potential risks in daily life, including how to identify banned substances.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Comments on the Education

Lee Young-hee, President of KADA, remarked, "To prevent student-athletes from violating anti-doping rules, the roles of coaches and parents in daily life are crucial. While we've consistently strengthened education for coaches, there has been almost no education for parents."

He also added, "In the future, we will enhance education for parents and improve communication to help alleviate their concerns about doping, guiding their children toward a healthy and safe athletic career.โ€

KADA Strengthens Asian Anti-Doping Capacity with KIST DCC Support for Laos

๐Ÿ’Š Building Anti-Doping Capacity in Laos

KADA, in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology's Doping Control Center (KIST DCC), is providing doping testing training and free sample analysis support for the Laos Anti-Doping Organization. Starting in 2023, KADA and KIST DCC select one anti-doping organization each year to enhance doping management capabilities in developing countries within the Asia region.

๐Ÿ˜Ž Updates on This Yearโ€™s Program

This year, a total of eight anti-doping organizations applied for the support program. After a thorough document review and interviews, the Laos Anti-Doping Organization was ultimately selected. Currently conducting approximately 20 doping tests annually, the Laos Anti-Doping Organization is expected to increase its capacity by performing an additional 30 tests through this support program, effectively more than doubling its testing capabilities.
